Torres Fires Shutout in Toucans Victory Friday, June 5th , 2150 Fans at Goiânia Grounds witnessed the Goiania Toucans blank the Naperville Pubcrawlers, 1-0, on the strength of a superb effort from starter Alberto Torres. The Goiania right-hander allowed 3 hits in recording the shutout. "Alberto was good today, but I don't want to focus too much on a single game," Goiania manager said. "If you're capable of playing at this level, you're capable of having a good game. The real question is if you can learn from that game and repeat it." Torres has fashioned a 4-3 mark for the season, 2.58 ERA and thrown 73.1 innings in 11 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .230 against him. |
