Hankins Gives Galveston Goose Eggs Saturday, June 6th , 2150 Danny Hankins was throwing strikes early and getting ahead in the count, his manager said after the San Pedro Stone Faces hurler tossed a 7-hit, complete game shutout against the Galveston Jubilee. "I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Hankins. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings." Hankins walked 3 and struck out 7 in the 5-0 victory. Hankins has nailed down no saves for the year. He has also totaled 85 strikeouts and 13 walks in 80.1 innings while registering a 2.91 ERA and a 2-6 won-lost record. |
