Gómez Tosses 4-0 Shutout for Venice Saturday, July 24th , 2134 The Okayama Shogun struggled at the plate today against Legionnaires hurler José Gómez, who shackled them on 8 hits while hurling a complete game 4-0 shutout. "What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Shogun skipper in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow." Gómez finished the game with 6 strikeouts and no walks in an excellent mound performance. "He pitched real well," Venice manager said. "José made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
