Super Swinger -- Pérez Slams 5 Hits Thursday, August 31st, 2130 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Juan Pérez is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Olympia Emeralds at Jaguars Ballpark today. The monster effort from the 26-year-old left fielder helped the Manaus Jaguars take the win, 7-1. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Emeralds manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Juan Pérez singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Cristián Rodríguez in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th and singled in the 8th. For the year Pérez is batting .343 with 16 home runs, 106 RBIs and 88 runs scored. |
