Ward 5-for-6 Against Salta Friday, June 16th, 2113 Michael Ward exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Salta Grounds. The Trois-Rivieres first baseman had a field day in the 13-2 triumph over the Salta Dolphins, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Ward must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Michael Ward hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. In 55 games this season Ward has compiled a .296 batting average with 59 hits and 2 home runs. He has also scored 26 times and knocked in 22 runs. |
