Stone Faces Blank Jubilee, Franks Wins
Saturday, September 13th , 2149
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Anthony Franks of the San Pedro Stone Faces proved the point at Express Park, holding the Galveston Jubilee to 8 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Franks made us look real bad today," Jubilee manager said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Franks had 5 strikeouts and gave up 2 walks as the Stone Faces took the 8-0 win.
For the year, Franks has a 1-2 record with a 6.30 ERA in 5 starts.
