Choi Cracks 5 Hits Sunday, August 20th , 2147 Galveston shortstop Yong-kook Choi could do no wrong in today's 23-2 win over the Coqui as he collected 5 hits. "Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Coqui skipper said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts." Choi agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game. "Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." Yong-kook Choi hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Amazuz Ibrahim in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. In the 2147 season Choi is hitting .257 with 15 home runs. |
