Immel Ampar of the Goiania Toucans will be adding a new centerpiece to his mantel after being tabbed for the Americas Baseball League Pitcher of the Year Award today.

The 23-year-old hurler started 27 games this season, tallying a 16-4 record. In 195 innings, Ampar gave up 167 hits, struck out 181, walked 34 and held opponents to a .228 average as he posted a fine 2.03 ERA.

He received 14 first place votes out of a possible 20. Kenny Johnson of the Goiania Toucans finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Gary Holyday of the Traverse City Cherries finished third with 2 first place votes.
