Mtume Hurls Recife to Shutout Win Friday, June 13th , 2138 Taban Mtume of the Recife Jaguars was masterful today, pitching a 5-hit shutout, 3-0, against the Eugene Emeralds. By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by Recife manager . "It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too." Mtume had 2 strikeouts and 1 walk in the outing.
