Morales Belts 5 Hits Thursday, June 18th , 2150 After his 5-hit effort at Estadio Santo Domingo was tarnished by Recife's 3-2 loss to the La Romana Toros, second baseman Francisco Morales told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win." He didn't get the win, but the 20-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Toros. "His swing is getting there," said Jaguars skipper after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Francisco did that to perfection and we wasted it." Francisco Morales singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Morales is batting at a .324 pace this season, picking up 33 hits in 102 at-bats with 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored. |
