Martínez Slaps 5 Hits Thursday, August 18th, 2118 No matter what the Eugene Emeralds threw at him today, Reynaldo Martínez hit it. He easily handled Emeralds pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Toros to a 14-2 triumph at Eugene Ballpark. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Martínez's quip, Emeralds skipper said he "would take him up on that next time." Reynaldo Martínez hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th. Currently Martínez has 1 home run and a .296 batting average. |
