South Bend's Shimizu ABL-R Star of the Week Monday, May 3rd , 2145 Toyotomi Shimizu has been in a real groove lately. The 21-year-old South Bend Leprechauns center fielder nabbed Americas Baseball League Player of the Week honors today after beating up on opposing pitchers all last week. Shimizu's hot streak featured 7 hits in 22 at-bats, 4 home runs, 13 RBIs, 8 runs scored and a .318 average. For the season Shimizu is hitting .221, batted in 20 runs with 5 home runs and 15 runs scored. |
