Purbacaraka Batters South Bend for 5 Hits Sunday, June 27th , 2151 La Romana Toros center fielder Yuda Purbacaraka had a day to remember at Estadio Santo Domingo, ripping apart the South Bend Leprechauns and sparking the 21-4 Toros win. Purbacaraka wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-7. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Purbacaraka told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Yuda Purbacaraka hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
