Friday, June 30th , 2141
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Naples's Rusty Blevins made it happen today against the Fleur-de-Lis. Everything came together at the plate for the 28-year-old catcher as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats -- and led the Naturals to a 8-1 win at Lightning Ballpark.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Blevins said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Rusty Blevins hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run double in the 9th.
So far this season Blevins is batting .310 with 2 home runs, 21 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 31 hits in 100 at-bats, 9 walks and a .377 OBP. Blevins has played in 36 games.
