Friday, August 18th , 2147
Jorge Rosales punished the Caguas Coqui today, leading the Leprechauns to a 12-4 win. In doing so, Rosales hit for the cycle, tagging the Coqui for 4 hits in 5 at-bats.
A player hitting a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game is one of the more unusual feats in professional baseball and typically happens only a couple times per season.
"Well, I didn't expect that to happen," the South Bend right fielder said after the game. "I got some great pitches and I hit their mistakes."
Rosales also had 6 runs batted in and 1 run scored in the game at Caguas Grounds.
Jorge Rosales singled in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Alfonso Lozoyo in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit a sac fly in the 8th.
On the year Rosales is hitting .195 with 46 hits, 6 home runs, 25 RBIs, .270 OBP and has scored 34 runs.
