Best ABL-R Reliever Named Wednesday, October 11th , 2147 Luis Borges was a calming influence out of the La Romana Toros bullpen this season. His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 21-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Americas Baseball League Reliever of the Year Award for 2147. The Los Reyes, Mexico native won the award with 1 save in 43 relief appearances, 75 strikeouts in 58 innings and a record of 4-2 to go with his 1.09 ERA. He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 20. Abdul-Ra'uf Majid al Din of the Mackinac Trappers finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Gabriel Aguilar of the Mackinac Trappers finished third.
