Cheetahs Ace IBL-R's Best Pitcher Friday, October 13th , 2147 It was a glorious year for Kazuyuki Kanno of the Kisumu Cheetahs. He finished the season with 15 victories and only 5 losses, with an impressive 1.15 ERA. The talented Cheetahs pitcher started 27 games and struck out 237 batters in 203.2 innings and won the Intercontinental Baseball League Pitcher of the Year Award. "It means a lot," Kanno said. "I hadn't really had a chance to sit down and think about it yet. It feels good right now. I can't really put it into words, but I'm sure later on tonight when I have a chance to sit down with my family and think about it, I'll have some words for it. But right now, I'm just happy that it happened this year." He received 17 first place votes out of a possible 20. Philippe Perez of the Sargodha Peregrine finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Hwen-thiang Liang of the Naples Naturals finished third.
