Detroit Sends Gentry to Melbourne Monday, April 22nd , 2148 In a move that has fans in both cities buzzing, the Detroit Blue Gills and the Melbourne Meteors have agreed to a deal that will have 34-year old RHP Matt Gentry heading to Melbourne in exchange for a 2nd round draft pick. Provided they pass a physical, the players should be with their respective teams in time for tomorrow's games. Detroit will retain a portion of Gentry's remaining contract. A check of his career stats reveals Gentry has chalked up 23 wins and 17 losses with 309 strikeouts and a 3.74 ERA. Opposing teams have put up a .237 batting average against him. |
