Wooddisse Pounds 3 HR Tuesday, May 19th , 2150 Fans are still buzzing after Rio de Janeiro whipped the El Paso Thunderbirds by the score of 17-0 at Rio de Janeiro Grounds. Jon Wooddisse smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the second baseman bashed out 4 hits in 5 at-bats, had 8 RBIs and scored 5 times. At the postgame press conference, Wooddisse said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Wooddisse said. "Three is just... wow." Jon Wooddisse flied out in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Tien Dung Long in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, walked in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Puhi Elikai in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Tsu-wee Shih in the 8th. Wooddisse is currently batting .323 with 4 home runs and 23 RBIs. |
