Vargas Nabs ABL Position Player of the Year Award

Carlos Vargas has been around Americas Baseball League enough to know a good hot streak when he sees one -- and he got to see one firsthand all year. For his standout run through the 2111 season, he's taking home the Position Player of the Year Award in the Americas Baseball League.
The Sao Paulo shortstop put up a batting average of .318 with 32 doubles, 4 triples, 24 home runs and 90 RBIs.
Pedro Gómez of the Buenos Aires Dolphins finished second in voting, while Ramón Montés of the Mexico City Aztecs finished third.
