He may have less experience than most of his World Baseball Association peers, but that didn't slow Cal Givens down at all in 2150.
At the age of 22, the Oslo second baseman has been named the winner of the Intercontinental Baseball League Position Player of the Year Award.
He had a .334 batting average and a .434 on-base percentage this year. In 148 games he piled up 176 hits, 21 doubles, 3 triples, 45 home runs, 125 RBIs and 112 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Serafim Bexiga of the Daegu Monks finished second in voting, while Badal Unmesh of the Rome Generals finished third.
