Thunderbirds Take Tight Tangle
Though he had a stellar game, Steve Briggs could not prevent his team, the Santo Domingo Palmchats, from losing, 7-6, to the El Paso Thunderbirds. Briggs went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The winner in relief was Amjad Jahangiri. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-1. Timothy Adamczak finished to wrap up his 6th save.

Ángel Fernández came through with a big-time hit for El Paso. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 7-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We got the victory," said Fernández. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

Santo Domingo drops to 13-15.
