Tieh Hits 2 home runs in Thunderbirds Win
The El Paso Thunderbirds took on the Los Angeles Stars at Thunderdome.

The El Paso Thunderbirds defeated the Los Angeles Stars by the score of 11-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Cheng-ho Tieh. Tieh was 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Thunderbirds on the day. The win gives El Paso a season record of 16-16.

Thao Trung, who led the ABL in wins above replacement with 7.4 in 2143, took Los Angeles hurler Igor Germanchuk deep in the bottom of the third. His grand slam home run put the Thunderbirds on top, 5-1. In all, Trung had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

Thunderbirds manager AP MP wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
