Thunderbirds Win 4th Straight, Take Down Aztecs, 9-2
The El Paso Thunderbirds earned a win at Thunderdome, knocking off the Mexico City Aztecs, 9-2. On the bump for El Paso was right-hander Tien Dung Long. He had a starring role in the triumph. Long yielded 2 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 11-6. El Paso now has a record of 53-35 with the win.

Yong-kook Choi had a big grand slam home run for the Thunderbirds in the bottom of the first inning. With El Paso leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from Meany Pyne, who is tied for 9th in the ABL in strikeouts with 58, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Thunderbirds on top, 5-0.

"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Long.
