Jorge Garza was superb against Detroit. The right-hander, who is a two-time All-Star, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Aztecs victory. The score was 5-3. Garza yielded 3 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 10. His record improves to 5-7. Picking up his 36th save was four-time All-Star Hayato Tsuchida.

Zhao-ji Zheng helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Mexico City a 2-0 lead.

"Jorge was filthy tonight," said Mexico City manager Square Drive.

The Aztecs now have a record of 80-51 with the win over Detroit.
