Starting pitcher Tien Dung Long pitched well enough to help the El Paso Thunderbirds beat the Los Angeles Stars, 11-4. The first-place Thunderbirds now sit at 85-46.

El Paso used the clutch hitting of Ari Lueger to snag the win. The shortstop drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunderbirds ahead, 9-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Lueger said. "We did a good job of that today."
