Rallying Aztecs Get 2-1 Win
|
Both offenses were feeble at Ballpark of Mexico City. Fortunately for the Mexico City Aztecs, though, Tai Khuc delivered in the clutch. He went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, to help his team topple the Puerto Rico Coqui, 2-1. The winner in relief was Ben Middleton. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 4-3. Mexico City improves to 81-52 with the win. They lead their division by 8 games.
Zhao-ji Zheng was the walk-off hero for Mexico City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Aztecs third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Khuc described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
