Great Effort by Fitzies RF Loewe Not Enough in 11-8 Loss
The El Paso Thunderbirds withstood an impressive performance by Gitche Gumee left fielder Pengel Loewe to defeat the Fitzies, 11-8, at Thunderdome. Loewe hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Qian-fu Luo earned his 42nd save in 47 chances. The first-place Thunderbirds have won 4 in a row.

One of the clutch hits for El Paso came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with two out, Kyle Middleton, who finished 5th in the IBL in RBI with 106 in 2138, hit a 2-run single to put the Thunderbirds up, 10-7. For the game, the right fielder went 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.

"Feels good to get the job done," Middleton said after the game.
