Aztecs Claim Late Win
The Mexico City Aztecs outlasted Patrick Widhoezl and the Chicago Beefs, 9-7, in 13 innings. Widhoezl was impressive in the loss. The Chicago pitcher threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Hayato Tsuchida in relief. His record improves to 8-4. Orlando Saucedo took the loss. Mexico City is now 91-60, Chicago 65-86.

The Aztecs beat the Beefs in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Ángel Santos produced in the top of the 13th. Batting against Orlando Saucedo, Santos gave his team the lead, 9-7, when he hit a 2-run single.

"If you're not prepared, it's not pressure you feel, it's fear," mused Mexico City manager Square Drive.
