Belmondo Leads Charge, El Paso Blasts Blue Gills
2150 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Detroit Blue Gills.

The El Paso Thunderbirds cruised to a win over the Detroit Blue Gills, 13-3, at Tokyo Ballpark. Gianpaolo Belmondo, the 2nd overall pick in the 2141 draft, led the way, going 4-for-4 for El Paso. The Americas Baseball League North American Division-leading Thunderbirds are 97-56.

The Thunderbirds got a big hit from pitcher Tien Dung Long. Facing Detroit pitcher Oliver Montoya in the top of the fifth, Long pounded a grand slam home run to left. His 35th home run of the season put the Thunderbirds ahead, 10-1.

"When you don't put the pitches where they're supposed to be, they hit you hard," said Detroit skipper C Schu.
