Dolphins Drop 7-4 Decision to Thunderbirds
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Havana Dolphins take on the El Paso Thunderbirds.
The El Paso Thunderbirds racked up a win at El Estadio Latinoamericano, bumping off the Havana Dolphins, 7-4. Gregor Finlater, who started for El Paso, pitched effectively for his team. Picking up the save was Timothy Adamczak, his 16th.
Johan Alcova had a big 2-run double for the Thunderbirds in the top of the second inning. With El Paso leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Dae-il Kim, who is tied for 4th in the ABL in quality starts with 10, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 23rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Thunderbirds ahead, 4-0.
"Gregor's as tough as he is talented," said El Paso manager AP MP.
El Paso, now 36-25, holds down second place in the Americas Baseball League North American Division.
