Guest Blue Gills Win, 7-4, at El Paso
|
The 7-4 Detroit win over El Paso was due in large part to Roderyk Komorowski. The Blue Gills second baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winner was Detroit reliever Adrien Verger, now 1-0. The loser was Amjad Jahangiri. Ragnar Arnfeldt got credit for the save for Detroit. It was his 3rd of the year.
Detroit took a 5-4 lead on Joy-shan Pian's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run, which Pian hit in the top of the seventh, left El Paso pitcher Amjad Jahangiri visibly frustrated.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Komorowski told the Detroit News.
The win moves Detroit to a record of 3-4.
