Ling Joins 3-HR Club
Sunday, July 6th , 2138
The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Carolina Coqui today.
Puerto Plata catcher Tso-i Ling tripled up on the home runs to propel the Taimascaros to the 20-2 win at Carolina Ballpark.
"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Carolina manager said. "Ling hit the heck out of the ball."
In addition to the homers, Ling collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 9 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."
Tso-i Ling hit a three-run home run off Reynaldo Aguilar in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Reynaldo Aguilar in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Sixten Frauenfelder in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
This season Ling is batting at a .246 clip with 3 home runs and 20 RBIs.
