Streak Finally Over, bin Muwaffaq Held Hitless
Saturday, August 15th , 2150
Porto Alegre Toucans left fielder Rahman bin Muwaffaq finally met his Waterloo.
A 26-game hitting spree is now history after bin Muwaffaq was unable to make anything happen in 4 at-bats today against the Kalamazoo Six Strings. Fortunately for bin Muwaffaq and the Toucans, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game, 6-5.
"We're a true team here," he said. "For 26 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day."
In 108 games this season, bin Muwaffaq has batted at a .291 pace with 107 hits and 16 home runs.
