5-Hit Blitz by Vancouver's Delgado
Thursday, May 25th, 2113
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Jesús Delgado today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Ballpark of Sacramento and paced the Mounties to a 65-3 win over the Sacramento Stars.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Vancouver first baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Jesús Delgado walked in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Eduardo Rivera in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
Thus far this year Delgado is hitting .328 with 4 home runs, 60 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
