Anaya Belts Bunch of Base Hits
Wednesday, June 17th , 2150
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for José Anaya -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Amex Stadium and paced the 15-0 Legionnaires win over the Eldoret Cape Buffalo.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Venice second baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. José Anaya flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Marcell Abbado in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This season, Anaya is batting .308 with 44 RBIs, 50 runs scored and 10 home runs.
