The Bergen Castles stopped the Florence Centurions by a score of 12-5 at Centurions Ballpark, with the lion's share of the credit going to catcher Mario Romero. The 35-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Romero said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Romero did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Centurions.

"Not much that I can say," offered Florence manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Mario Romero singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Wei-fang Lao in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
